Kingdom Death Builds

This is a simple summary page for Kingdom Death builds.  Scroll down for links.

Color Choices:  For my KDM set, I'm using an airbrush to provide shadows in a pseudo-statue, almost monochrome paint scheme.  I want a lot of high contrast from light to dark, with near-black in the shadows and near-whites in the light.  I'm using warm colors (creamy grays, buttery whites, and a bright mustard yellow) for the SURVIVORS and cool colors (blue-grays and a neon blue) for the MONSTERS.

I should also note that my goals are for "tabletop plus" and I will win no awards.

Minus individual exceptions noted in each build, the process I'm using is straightforward:

1. Assemble and fill the most offensive gaps.
2. Airbrush black primer (Vallejo Surface Primer)
3. Airbrush a "color stack" of 3 progressively lighter colors (usually grays). Each color is shot from a more restricted angle, with the first color sweeping vertically to horizontal with the table and the last color being shot almost vertically.
4. Wash.
5. Dry brush highlights and colors. See each build for particular notes; I vary the color order and stack colors to get the glowing effects and emphasize textures, light spots, and shadows.
6. Varnish.
